The Lighthouse Reef is named after the nearby lighthouse that has been guiding ships along the Konkan coast for decades. This site offers some of the best diving conditions in Tarkarli with crystal clear waters and abundant marine life. The reef features a gentle slope with sandy bottom areas and rocky outcrops that create perfect habitats for various marine species.

Topography

The site features a gradual slope starting at 4 meters depth and extending to 12 meters. The bottom consists of sandy patches interspersed with rocky formations and coral growth. Several swim-throughs and overhangs provide interesting exploration opportunities.

Diving Conditions

Currents are generally mild, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels. The site is well-protected from strong winds and waves, ensuring comfortable diving conditions throughout most of the year.

Best Time to Dive

Best diving conditions are from October to April when visibility is at its peak (8-15 meters) and water temperatures are comfortable (24-28°C). During this period, marine life is most active and coral formations are at their most vibrant.
